UnionPay Online Payment

Make online payments conveniently with your HSBC Debit Card via UnionPay. You can pay for online purchases around the world, including utility expenses, mobile phone bills, credit card debt, transportation, business trips and charitable donations.

Choose your preferred payment method

You can choose from two payment methods via UnionPay online payment:

  1. Authorised payment
    • Choose UnionPay online payment after selecting your merchants.
    • Fill in the card number and PIN of your HSBC China Debit Card, along with the mobile number you have previously registered at HSBC.
    • After verification is complete, a randomly generated one-time password will be sent to your mobile phone.
    • Fill in the one-time password you have just received.
    • The payment process will be completed after the successful verification of all the purchase information and the one-time password.
  2. Express payment
  • Register on the UnionPay online payment website and link your HSBC China Debit Card by filling the card number and PIN of your Debit Card and mobile phone number you have previously registered with HSBC.
  • After verification is complete, a randomly generated one-time password will be sent to your mobile phone.
  • Fill in the one-time password you have just received.
  • The debit card is linked to your online payment account after the successful verification of all the key purchase-related information and the one-time password.
  • You can now use your registered user ID and log on password for UnionPay during online payment (the log on password can be different from the debit card PIN).

Safe online payment limit

An online payment limit is set in order to protect you from potential threats or losses. By default, we apply a single payment limit of RMB10,000 and a daily limit of RMB50,000. You can apply to reset or adjust the limits based on your debit card usage and attitude to risk.
