Personal Large-Denomination Certificates of Deposit (CDs) refer to RMB-denominated book-entry large-denomination deposit vouchers issued electronically by HSBC China to an individual customer. CDs adopt standard terms and a minimum deposit amount, while the interest rate for the issue of CDs is determined by a market-oriented method.

Transfer service
From 24 July 2023 onwards, we'll support the transfer of Personal Large-Denomination Certificates of Deposit (CDs). For details on whether your CDs are transferrable, please refer to its product factsheet.
Note: for products that you purchase as a transferee, the principal and interest could be lower than your purchase price if you make an early withdrawal, leading to substantial loss. Therefore, we recommend retransferring your product instead. Please compare the benefits of early withdrawals and retransfers, to make a careful decision.

CDs refer to RMB-denominated book-entry large-denomination deposit vouchers issued electronically by HSBC China to individual customers.
CDs adopt standard terms and minimum deposit amounts, while the interest rate for the issue of CDs is determined by a market-oriented method.
Subject to regulations issued by the People's Bank of China (PBoC). CDs are a financial product in the category of general deposits, which falls within the area of deposit insurance. The minimum deposit amount for an individual subscription is RMB200,000.

Product subscription
Certificates of deposit are issued electronically. Customers can subscribe to the product at any HSBC branch, or via WeChat Service Account and Mobile Banking.
